Courtesy Visits To Some Female Senior Colleagues Of NIESV Abuja (Unity) Branch 24/10/2023Share on: On Friday 2nd September 2022, the Branch Coordinator of NIESV Abuja Women`s Wing, ESV Sandra Peter FNIVS, together with the Regional Coordinator ESV Adesumbo Adebisi FNIVS, ably led the Protem EXCO and other members, on special visits to some senior female colleagues of the branch who were once in active practice, as well as those still practicing, having contributed immensely towards the growth of the Institution.
The aim of the visit was to honour and appreciate them for being mentors to many upcoming female ESV both in the public and private sectors. And also to urge them to identify with the Women`s Wing and to still keep abreast of the happenings in the Profession, especially for the elders who are no longer actively involved. This was reflected in the opening remarks made by the Branch Coordinator during the visits.
Those visited were:- ESV Angela Great- Edereka, FNIVS
- ️ESV Margaret Okolo-ebube, FNIVS
- ️ESV (Dr.) Uche Egwuatu, FNIVS
The team started out at the place of ESV Angela Great- Edereka, FNIVS, who was delighted to receive them. She opined that the Institution is taking on a new dimension, as more females are taking up the challenge to actively practice the Profession, while not losing their femininity in the process. And that the NIESV Women`s Wing was a welcome development.
The team then proceeded to the home of ESV Margaret Okolo-Ebube, FNIVS who gladly welcomed them. She commented that the visit was a heartwarming gesture, and would surely give the elders some sense of belonging. She further registered her pleasure with regards to the birthing of NIESV Women Wing, which was once an idea during her time. And being an offshoot of the Institution, she admonished them to always maintain the Wing`s mission.
The visit came to an end at the office of ESV (Dr.) Uche Egwuatu, FNIVS, who gave them a warm reception. She remarked that though opportunities abound for the Practicing Estate Surveyor and Valuer who gives value - regardless of gender, the Women`s Wing was an avenue to further encourage the females to engage more in practice and in the affairs of the Profession.
They were all presented with a token gift which were well appreciated by them. And they in turn, entertained us with light refreshments.
